Cudrado Admits Barcelona Aproached Him

The representative of the Colombian winger Juan Guillermo Cuadrado has admitted that Barcelona had approached him some time back asking about the availability of the player.

Cuadrado emerged as an absolute superstar in the recently completed World Cup which happened in Brazil. He found the back of the net once for Colombia, while, assisted a few times as well. After that, some big clubs have been reported to be willing to secure his services.

When asked which of the clubs have tried to get in touch with him since the World Cup, Cuadrado’s representative said, “Barca and a couple more have enquired if my client is up for sale or not, but, nothing official thereafter.”

“However, I would like to clarify a few other things. My client’s as well as my personal relationship with Fiorentina is quite healthy and if we have to part ways or bring any sort of negotiations in the current deal of Cuadrado, we would do that in an appropriate manner so that both the parties feel satisfied.”

As per the current deal that Cuadrado has with Fiorentina, he would stay at the club for 3 more years i.e. till the summer of 2017.

The 26-year Old winger had arrived at Stadio Artemio Franchi in 2012. He had been playing for the Italian club Udinese before that.

In the couple of seasons that Cuadrado has spent at Fiorentina, he has made 60 odd league appearances scoring 16 goals.

Some reports in the English media suggest that Manchester United is another club apart from Barcelona which is looking to buy Cuadrado.

Manchester United’s willingness to go for Cuadrado is not surprising actually. Their new boss Louis Van Gaal is believed to be pretty keen to boost his attacking line up.
