SPORTING LISBON WANT CHELSEA STRIKER THIS SUMMER

Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi is currently gaining more suitors this summer after his loan spell at Crystal Palace last season. The Belgium international forward is said to not be in the plans of manager Thomas Tuchel in the upcoming season and a host of clubs have been making inquiries about his availability and how much it would cost to land his signature this summer. Batshuayi was allowed to leave Stamford Bridge last season to sign for Crystal Palace as he could not find it an easy battle to fight for his place in the starting eleven, with Olivier Giroud, Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, and Tammy Abraham all in contention for a starting role.

His loan spell at Selhurst Park is not an entirely positive one, however, and having already returned to Chelsea after his temporary transfer, he will now have to decide where he will be playing his football next season. Abraham is also struggling for game time under Tuchel already and if Batshuayi stays, it is highly likely that he will also have to maintain a constant appearance on the bench.

Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon have submitted their interest in Batshuayi and have told Chelsea that they would like to take him on an initial loan with an option to make the transfer a permanent one if he is able to convince them that he deserves it. Sporting were crowned the Champions of the Portuguese league last season following an impressive campaign that saw Portuguese midfielder Pedro Goncalves score a lot of goals for them, ending up as the league’s top scorer.

They now wish to take the burden off the midfielder by signing another striker that would assist in the goals as they look to retain their league title in the coming season.
