TOTTI IS BORN AGAIN

Francesco Totti’s career has seen the Italian forward making over 600 appearances for As.Roma as he made his first appearance for Roma’s senior side at the age of 16.

21 years later and Totti continues making consistent performances for As.Roma but he is reaching the end of his career and the president of the club James Pallota has outlines his plans to retire Totti’s number 10 jersey when the veteran attacker decides to retire.

”It would be great to be able to replicate players like him, De Rossi and Florenzi. In Boston we had Larry Bird, we had Paul Pierce, and it was very difficult to decide to sell him, but it was good for the team,” Pallotta told Sky Sport 24.

”I’d like to have players who spend 10-15 years in the squad. When Francesco stops we will retire the number 10 jersey, there is no doubt his farewell won’t last just an hour either, it will be at least a month.” Pallota added on.

As.Roma is located in the 2nd spot of the Italian League, Serie A with the table- toppers Juventus leading the way. The squad of Rudi Garcia initiated the season on a high note as they went undefeated during the opening 17 matches until they faced off against Juventus on January 5 and suffered a 3-0 defeat.

Rudi Garcia and his players continue rampaging past just about everyone in their path but at this point in time it seems like they will have to settle with a 2nd place finish in the season as Juventus are favorites on winning the league for the 3rd consecutive year.

Even with his 37 years of age, Totti remains being a crucial player for As.Roma as he is one of the top goal-scorers for the Italian club in this season along with Mattia Destro and Gervinho.
